About Talking Kit

Talking Kit is a podcast for football kit fanatics made by three football kit fanatics. Join Aaron, James and Sean for a look at some of the greatest and worst kits to grace the football world.

In each episode we’ll be bringing you our skewed view on football attire through fun features or our own stories on the kits that made us fall in love.

If you love football kits, then you need to be ‘Talking Kit’.

Meet the hosts

Aaron

Aaron

Aaron is a football kit nut who looked to start ‘Talking Kit’ after having a dream about a podcast centred around his favourite subject. He is a kit traditionalist that believes clubs should stick to their historical colours. Non of this zebra kit nonsense. United season ticket holder who supports Brazil internationally (much to the annoyance of James). Big fan of flair players (Cantona, R9 & Ronaldinho) and full backs (due to being put there as a kid), Aaron will happily converse with you on why left footed players are better than right footed players. Turn ons: Football kits with the adidas trefoil logo, players wearing the correct numbers for position & football kit websites. Turn offs: The two CDM pivot, Paul Scholes slander & professional football players who can’t beat the first man on a corner.
James

James

From Manchester and supports the red side of the city, James is an open mic comic looking to pursue stand up comedy. His limited attention span and eye for the unusual means that football isn’t just about great goals and tiki taka - it also means reminiscing over “that haircut”, why a centre forward is sporting the No.5 jersey?! As well as the other philosophical questions in the beautiful game- - Does wearing gloves deem you a bit of a soft touch? - Did Sharp Viewcam have a boom in sales during the late 90’s? - Why don’t more teams opt for sleeveless kits like Cameroon that time? If you like your football without the usual arm chair punditry, tactical nonsense about which is the best formation (it’s 4-4-2 by the way) and armchair criticism of clubs - James is your man.
Sean

Sean

Long suffering Stockport County fan who has a fetish for all things 90’s. Sean has had to parry away unjustified insults and sporting banter from fans of the blue and red half of Manchester due to his football allegiance. The Hatters will rise again. Still collects football stickers way into adulthood and can’t hold your gaze for longer than 3 seconds. Sean’s perfect woman would be someone who at least pretends to be interested when he is twenty minutes into telling her why France 98’ was the best World Cup. Sean hates VAR. Still clinging onto the dream of making it as a pro GK even into his mid thirties.
