About The Football Diary Podcast

The Football Diary Podcast started in 2021 when friends and former colleagues Mike, Myles and Dave decided to record their chats about football.

Mike and Dave – both Manchester United fans – and Myles – an Aston Villa fan – have since made the Podcast a weekly thing. Never short on opinion, the lads focus mainly on the Premier League, as well as the ups and downs of their own teams.

Meet the hosts

Mike

Mike

Manchester United fan based in Leicestershire, and a married father of 3 daughters. Randomly, the 1st United player I obsessed over was Andrei Kanchelskis. I also had a proper fixation on Ajax growing up, and still have the ‘95 home shirt from when they won the Champions League. I wanted to be a journalist growing up, and even got a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Myles

Myles

Aston Villa fan based in London. My love of football and of course Aston Villa comes from my grandad. Every time we catch up, we spend most of the time talking about Villa; that’s probably where I got the love for podcasting from too. I also love Italian football. As a child, Francesco Totti was my hero. It’s hard to say my interests outside of football, because to be honest, it’s certainly at the centre of all I do! I do have a love of coffee and music and of course, spending time with my wife and travelling whenever we can.
Dave

Dave

Manchester United fan also based in Leicestershire. The first two players I really idolised were David Beckham and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. I loved to copy Beckham's free kick stance and technique when I played football as a kid, though the execution wasn't quite as good. Haha! A bit retro. A big lover of 60/70/80's music. Growing up I always wanted to be a vet, which would explain my love for animals. But somehow ended up a Brickie.
