Meet the hosts

Dan Hough

Dan Hough

Dan Hough began his cricketing journey playing up in the West Midlands, firstly for Sentinel CC in Shrewsbury and then Redditch CC in Birmingham. Work saw him up sticks and come down to the South-East and he ended up never leaving. In terms of Middlesex, he's very much a one-club man, playing for Twickenham as they went up from the Middlesex Championship through the divisions to the MCCL Premier Division. His playing is now restricted to appearances for the Twickenham CC Vets and indeed filling holes in Saturday sides as and when there are no other people around. Dan's been involved with the MCCL podcast since the very beginning.
Salman Ali

Salman Ali

Much like Dan, Sal Ali played plenty of cricket in the Middlesex Championship before North London CC worked their way up and into the Middlesex County Cricket League (MCCL). Back in the day, Sal was a wily off-spinner, picking up many a wicket as a batter's eyes lit up. Now that his playing days are behind him, Sal spends his Saturdays watching cricket from the best seat in the house; he's a member of the MCCL's umpiring panel. When not following things from the middle, Sal makes it his business to have a dig around and see what's going on around the county. That means he's become the indispensable voice of detail on the MCCL podcast.
