Adam Mackman

Hey, I’m Adam the host of ZPG Ice Maidens and creator of the Ice Maidens website. I’m based on Tyneside where I commentate and provide media coverage of the Whitley Bay Beacons. I first started commentating for the Whitley Warriors 8 years ago, a role which also saw me involved with the men’s playoff weekends and cup finals. For the past 3 years my focus has been on the WNIHL and helping to grow the women’s game. Aside from the Beacons I try and cover as many other games as possible and also commentate at the Playoff Finals Weekend. I fell in love with hockey at 13 when my sister first took me to a game at Newcastle Arena. Soon after I was addicted to the NHL video games and have since travelled to Canada, USA, Russia and Finland to name but four countries I watched hockey in. I am a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan as well as Pelicans Lahti of the Finnish Liiga. Outside of hockey I present and report for a local radio station in Newcastle where I cover women’s football, basketball and volleyball. As a fan of many sports and sports media I have used that passion to help fuel what I do. Although I am part of the Beacons off ice staff I try to stay neutral to all members of the WNIHL and give them equal coverage. Hope you enjoy it, Adam.
